Purpose

The North Carolina World Trade Association Awards Program seeks to recognize those companies, organizations, and individuals on an annual basis that make the most significant contributions to international trade promotion and growth in five major categories.

Awards and Criteria

• Governor's Award for Trade Excellence - That NCWTA-member company, organization, or individual selected from the winners of the Importer, Exporter, and Trade Facilitator categories that has made, over the past year, the most significant contribution to the development of North Carolina international trade and the trade community.
• NCWTA Importer of the Year Award – That nominated NCWTA-member company, organization, or individual that demonstrates through its practices, growth, job creation, and community commitment the highest degree of excellence in the import sector of the North Carolina trade community.
• NCWTA Exporter of the Year Award – That nominated NCWTA-member company, organization, or individual that demonstrates through its practices, growth, job creation, and community commitment the highest degree of excellence in the export sector of the North Carolina trade community.
• NCWTA Trade Facilitator Award – That nominated NCWTA company, organization, or individual that demonstrates by professional support of trade activities and growth the highest degree of commitment to the enhancement of international trade development or growth.
• NCWTA Chapter of the Year Award (Ingeborg Hegenbart Award) – That NCWTA chapter that has achieved, over the past year, the highest level of excellence in terms of membership growth, educational contribution to North Carolinians, and advocacy of international trade.
